Shipping & Delivery: What to Expect with Large Furniture Orders

Ordering a custom piece of furniture is exciting — but when it comes to shipping something that weighs 200 to 450 pounds, many people understandably start to wonder: How exactly does delivery work? Will I need to lift it? Assemble it? Will someone bring it inside?
We get these questions a lot, so here’s a clear breakdown of what to expect when it comes to shipping and delivery of your custom-made furniture from us.
Everything Is Protected During Transport
Before your piece even leaves our workshop, we make sure it’s carefully packed and protected:
-
Every piece is blanket-wrapped to prevent dings, dents, or scratches in transit
-
Then it’s plastic-wrapped for extra protection against dust, moisture, and shifting during the drive
-
For long-distance deliveries, pieces are often strapped in place securely to keep them stable during cross-country transport
We don’t take shortcuts when it comes to getting your piece to you safely.
We Don’t Just Build It — We Help Get It Inside
Let’s be honest — not everyone has a truck, a dolly, and a couple of friends with strong backs standing by. And even if you do, lifting a 10-foot solid wood dining table up stairs or through a narrow hallway can be a serious challenge.
That’s why we work with trusted delivery drivers who don’t just drop it off at the curb — they’ll bring it into your home and assemble it for you when possible.
We try to make the process as smooth as possible, especially because we know:
-
Not everyone is physically able to lift heavy items
-
Some people just aren’t hands-on or comfortable with tools
-
These are large, heirloom-quality pieces that deserve proper handling
Whether you’re ordering a dining table, a media console, or a custom conference table, we want the final step — delivery — to feel just as thoughtful and intentional as the piece itself.
Types of Delivery We Offer
Depending on your location and the piece itself, here are a few delivery options we may offer:
White Glove Delivery
This is our favorite method when available. Our delivery partners will:
-
Bring the piece into your home
-
Assemble it if needed (especially important for two-part bases or large tops)
-
Place it exactly where you want it
-
Remove any packaging materials
It's the smoothest, most stress-free option — and especially helpful if your piece is oversized or going upstairs.
Curbside Freight Delivery
For some areas, especially those farther from our workshop, we may ship your piece via freight. This is typically more affordable, but it’s a curbside drop-off, meaning:
-
The driver unloads the crate at your driveway or front entrance
-
You are responsible for bringing it inside and assembling it
We always give you advance notice so you can plan ahead, and we pack everything extremely well to keep it safe during transit.
How Long Does Delivery Take?
Once your piece is finished, we’ll contact you to arrange delivery. Shipping times vary depending on your location and the delivery method, but typically range from 2–7 business days after your piece leaves our workshop.
If we're using a local or regional driver, we’ll do our best to schedule a delivery window that works for you.
Preparing for Delivery
Here are a few simple ways to make the process even easier:
-
Measure your space — make sure the piece fits through doorways, hallways, and staircases
-
Clear a path — remove rugs or furniture that may be in the way
-
Have someone available — even with help, it's nice to have someone there to direct placement or answer questions
What If Something Goes Wrong?
We do our best to make sure every delivery goes smoothly, but if something gets damaged during shipping or if anything looks off when your piece arrives, let us know right away. We stand by our work, and we’ll make it right.
In the End, It’s More Than Just a Table
Our job doesn’t stop at building beautiful furniture — we want to make sure it arrives safely, is set up correctly, and feels right at home in your space. Whether we’re delivering it ourselves or working with our trusted partners, you can rest easy knowing we’re treating your piece like the one-of-a-kind build it is.
