Furniture with a soul — built by hand, rebuilt by heart.
It’s an honor to welcome you to The Woodhills.
We’ve had the pleasure of building hundreds of custom pieces for incredible customers across the DFW area and beyond — from modern dining tables to timeless statement pieces. Our focus has always been the same: to bring you a positive, one-of-a-kind buying experience through quality craftsmanship and genuine service.
But this journey started humbly — in a one-car garage.
The Woodhills 2017
Where It All Began
In 2017, a small group of coworkers from Home Depot came together in Flower Mound, Texas, with basic tools, little experience, and a dream. At the time, our only goal was to save up for college by building flags, signs, and small furniture for family and friends.
But something changed. We found a deeper purpose in the work. As more customers challenged us with new designs, we kept learning — and falling in love with the process. What started as a side hustle turned into a full-time mission. We quit our jobs, went to school, and kept building.
Every day, we worked harder. Got smarter. Our pieces got better. Stronger. More thoughtful. More durable. We didn’t want to just build furniture — we wanted to build something that could live in someone’s home for generations.
The Journey — Timeline
2017
Started in a 1-car garage in Flower Mound, TX
Built flags, signs, and small custom furniture for family & friends
Goal: save for college
2018–2019
Quit our jobs at Home Depot and committed to growing the business while attending school
Built our first real customer base
2020
Outgrew our Carrollton shop (1,400 sqft) and moved into a 3,000 sqft shop
Invested in industrial-grade tools
Started offering more complex, high-end builds
Expanded to serve more of the DFW metroplex

Shop Fire at 4:00 AM — we lost almost everything
Had to move into a 1,000 sqft shop
Trashed nearly all of our tools, materials, and in-progress projects
Only kept our SawStop and jointer — couldn’t bear to throw them out
Broke the bad news to customers and started rebuilding from scratch
Lost some team members, but kept the mission alive

2023
Moved into a 2,000 sqft shop
Then expanded into the warehouse next door, giving us 4,000 sqft total
No A/C — worked through brutal Texas heat and winter cold
Kept building, kept showing up
Customers still came by — even when the space wasn’t pretty
We’ll never forget that support
That year, we also shifted our focus to premium hardwoods and modern, clean-lined designs. Our style evolved as we grew — and so did our customer base.
We finally cracked the code on shipping. For years, we hesitated to ship out of state. But in 2023, we figured it out — and started building pieces for homes all across the country.

Took a leap and moved into our current 7,300 sqft warehouse in Lewisville, TX
We were on the verge of giving up — but decided to keep going

2025
Took on some of our first large-scale commercial projects
Built six custom conference tables for a mining company in Alaska
Built 53 custom tables, 5 benches, and 8 chairs for a vibrant Mexican restaurant — all finished in 9+ custom paint colors to bring the space to life
Learned to balance high-volume production without sacrificing the craftsmanship we're known for.
Continued shipping handcrafted furniture across the United States.
The Woodhills 2025
2026
As exciting as those projects were, 2026 has brought an entirely new chapter.
We're slowly growing our team, investing in new equipment, and expanding into custom cabinetry and built-ins. While cabinetry and furniture both fall under the woodworking umbrella, they're surprisingly different worlds. Cabinetry demands a different way of thinking—from precision installation and workflow to hardware, organization, and space planning. It's a new set of skills, new challenges, and a whole new level of craftsmanship.
Dining tables will always be at the heart of The Woodhills. They started this journey, and they'll always have a special place in our shop. But we're equally excited to help families transform entire rooms through custom cabinetry.
As our company grows, one thing hasn't changed.
We still believe every project deserves the same care, whether it's a single coffee table or a complete home full of custom cabinetry.
We are committed to mastering both worlds while continuing to build the dining tables that started it all
